If you have ever been stuck with no USB cord to transfer files from your phone to PC, then you are at the right place.
In this post, I’ll be giving a step by step guide on how to
transfer files from your phone to PC wirelessly using the handy dandy
android/IOS app, Xender.
Now Xender is quite popular in my region, virtually every
android user in my region has Xender installed on their phone. It slowly became
a norm that every new phone bought should have Xender installed almost
immediately by the user.
Alongside other important installations like Twitter,
Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram an the likes, Xender has taken its position as
one of these prerequisites for a new phone. Even IOS users around me have
Xender installed on their phones in order to aid smooth sharing of files
between an Iphone and an Android phone.
Over the years Xender grew and introduced a lot of new
features, one of them being the Android to PC transfer which this post hopes to
teach.
Requirements
Before we get into the nitty gritty, here are the requirements for this guide
- A PC – of course
- An Android phone – I don’t know if IOS supports the PC to phone transfer
- Xender App – this should be installed on your phone
- An internet browser – This is for your PC
If you notice, in the requirements above there is no need to
install any xender app for your PC. As of the time the post was made, the
developers had no windows app for Xender
The guide
Now unto the main reason I made this post
Step 1
Open your phone’s hotspot and connect your pc to it
Step 2
Open Xender app on your phone (I have version 13.2.4 prime
installed) – ignore any ad you might be greeted with
Step 3
Click the 3-horizontal lines icon at the top right of the
screen
Step 4
Select ‘Connect PC’
Step 5
Take note of the address here
Step 6
Now on your PC, open your browser, in my case ‘Chrome’ and
type the address in ‘Step 5’ and hit enter
Step 7
Now on your phone you’ll be greeted with a pop up message,
click ‘Accept’
Step 8
On the next screen, you’ll see another message, just click ‘OK’
And on your PC click ‘Confirm’
Now you can send images, files, apps, videos, songs and
documents from your phone to the PC
Send from phone to PC
Lemme give a quick example on how to send files from your
phone to PC
Step 1
Let’s say you want to send a video, just click on the video
icon (same thing goes for music, apps and the rest)
Step 2
Select as many videos you wish to send and click on the
download icon
To locate the
transferred file, open file explorer and go to downloads
Send From PC to phone
If you wish to send files from your pc to your phone
Step 1
Click on any of the icons, I picked the files icon (this way
I can send to any folder of my choosing)
Step 2
Double click on any folder (wherever you wish to send your
file to)
Step 3
Once you’re in this folder, click on the big purple ‘UPLOAD
FILE’ button at top left corner, a window should pop up
Step 4
Select your desired file(s) and click ‘Open’
The new file will be transferred to your selected folder and
now you can access this file from your phone
That's All - it seems
I hope this post was helpful, I know how nerve-racking it
gets when transferring files from phone to PC or vice-versa seems impossible. I
got other post on this same subject with different apps the best alternative to
this is using the FTP method, it just seemed easier to me. If any of those weren’t
to your liking, there’s another way – using Zapya.
